Bridal Jewellery FAQ's
Who pays for Bridal Jewellery?
Bridal jewellery is often bought by family members, the groom, or the grooms family. The jewellery is gifted to show your love and care for the bride and so that they can think of their loved ones as they walk down the aisle. Jewellery for for the bride often consists of classic diamond pieces such as diamond earring or a necklace which will complement a wedding dress but also be worn for years to come.
What kind of Jewellery does a Bride wear?
On the wedding day, the type of jewellery that a bride wears can often tie an outfit together and complement the overall look. Decide which styles of jewellery are appropriate based upon the neckline of the bridal outfit as well as the hairstyle. Choose a metal colour and then decide which items of jewellery are appropriate. There is not set rule with bridal jewellery, it entirely depends on what the bride is comfortable and confident wearing.
What colour Jewellery should a Bride wear?
In addition to considering whether the bride has warm skin tones which will suit yellow gold, or cool skin tones which often suits platinum, consider the colour of the wedding dress. A white wedding dress is best complimented by platinum or white gold jewellery, where as an ivory dress would be better suited to yellow gold jewellery due to it's warmer colour.
Do you wear your Engagement Ring on your Wedding Day?
Because it’s traditional for the Wedding Ring to go on the finger first, a Bride will often take their Engagement ring off before the wedding. If it will fit on the other hand it’s coming to place it on the other ring finger until the ceremony is over before adding it back to sit next to the Wedding Ring. If it won’t fit on the other hand you could ask a bridesmaid to take care of your Engagement Ring for you whilst the ceremony is taking place.
