Eternity Ring FAQ's

How long will it take for my Eternity ring to be made?

All Diamond Eternity rings are crafted especially for you at Poppy Elder Fine Jewellery, this means they will take up to 3-4 weeks to be delivered to you.

If you would like to order a Diamond eternity ring as a diamond set wedding ring, or as an anniversary gift and you’ve left it until a little close to your special day to organise rings please let me know & I can check workshop capacity to advise if we are able to meet a shorter delivery timescale than usual.

What is the best metal to choose for an Eternity Ring?

Eternity rings are a piece of jewellery that in most cases is worn everyday. This means you need something hard wearing enough to stand up to everyday life. A silver ring may give you the colour of metal that you like, however sterling silver isn't hard wearing enough to stand up to heavy wear, or keep your diamonds secure.

If you are looking for an eternity ring which is silver in colour I would always recommend a Platinum eternity ring. This is because it is hard wearing, hypoallergenic, and because it is a naturally white metal it won't require maintenance to keep its bright white colour, unlike white gold which requires rhodium plating.

If you are looking for a ring which is gold in colour I would suggest 18ct gold. This is because it is made from 75% pure gold, unlike 9ct gold which is only made from 37.5% pure gold, with the majority of it's ingredients made from other metals. 18ct gold has a beautiful warm colour and rarely causes any reactions to the skin.

For those looking for a little warmth from their ring, or to match with a rose gold engagement ring, I would recommend a Rose Gold Eternity Ring.

Can I design my own Eternity Ring?

All Eternity Rings created at Poppy Elder Fine Jewellery are made specifically for you. This means that you are able to make any changes to the design that you'd like, such as a different shape of diamonds, a wider band or even a completely unique eternity ring design from scratch.

Just send me an email to Hello@poppyelder.com with your ideas and I'll come back to you as soon as I can to get started on the plans for your custom eternity ring ring.

What is an Eternity Ring?

An eternity ring is a ring that usually has diamonds or other gemstones like sapphires or rubies all the way around it.

However a half eternity ring is a popular option, as it’s much easier to size if necessary, because of a section plain metal at the back.
In the UK people often give a diamond eternity ring for a big wedding anniversary, like the 10th or 25th, although the 1st wedding anniversary is also a popular time to give an eternity ring. Other popular times to get an eternity ring are when something really special happens, like having a baby. But really, you can give one anytime you want to show your partner how much they mean to you and celebrate your time together.

What finger is an Eternity Ring worn on?

Traditionally, an eternity ring is worn on the same finger as the wedding and engagement rings. But hey, not everyone's fingers have room for three rings, or maybe you just fancy wearing it on its own. In that case, slipping it onto the third finger of your right hand is a great option. It's all about what feels right for you and your style.
